After you have narrow it down to which types of shoes you want to sell, that would be your Niche. Every time you sell your Niche, you get a commission in return.
Why Do We Break Down a Niche into Sub-niches?
When we pick a niche, we have to break it down to a very targeted area of the clothing market. In other words, we have to break it down into sub-niches.
Why do we do that?
We do that so that we can be able to have some authority in that particular section of that market we are selling to. If we are too broad in how we pick our niche, then we will be drowned out by some very big competitors. Imagine being up against big corporations like, Macy’s or Walmart when it comes to overall clothing sales. That is why it is a better idea that we target a much smaller and specialized section of the clothing market. For example: If we target and promote only the clothing for toddlers, we will have a much better chance of making money on that niche rather than competing with the big corporations on all the clothing market.

There are so many tutorials out there on how to find a profitable niche to promote but I will try to simplify this process as much as I can to make it easier on both of us. In this paragraph, I will show you the shortest and best way to find what is good to sell on Amazon. Let us say that your passion in in Home and Gardening and you want to look for a lucrative niche in that category to promote.
- You log on to your Amazon account or just go to Amazon.com
- Click on Departments on the upper left-hand corner
- Click on your department. In this case Home, Garden and Tools
NOTE: Just picking Home,Garden is way too broad. We have to narrow it down some more by picking one of the sub-niches that shows up when we click on Home, Garden and Tools. Sometime we might have to dig deeper to the sub-sub-niches before we settle on something we like. As we are clicking at these sob-niches, Amazon is showing us a list of it’s Best Sellers for that category to pick from. So, just keep digging and pick a niche that is lucrative for you to promote.
Niche Marketing Strategies
What is a niche marketing strategy? A niche market stragedy focuses on delivering a specific product or service to a targeted group or audience based on their needs, age, gender or any number of particular needs. For example Mary’s and Hary’s are both shoe companies. Mary’s caters to older customers with orthopedic shoe needs while Hary’s serve younger customers with the needs for sport shoes.
Simply put, a niche market is a specific or targeted subset of a broader market. A niche marketing strategy therefore focuses on delivering a product or service to address the needs of a particular audience or target group. Examples include niches based on price, age, gender, income bracket, and specific interests.
As we discussed earlier, these companies are going to make more money when they target a smaller section of the broader market. As the saying in the marketing field goes, “It is whether you want to be a ‘small fish in a big pond’ or a ‘big fish in a small pond’. As a small online marketing company, we can not be everything to everybody but by choosing our targeted audience and niche wisely is the key to our long term success.
Advantages of Niche Marketing
One of the main advantages pf niche marketing is enhanced customer relationships or the ability to focus primarily on your targeted audience. You only target a specific type of audience. Depending on what you are trying to sell, your niche market could be a small targeted one. Let us say that you are a truck driver instructor. There are only a small fraction of the overall population that want to become truck drivers. When you target a small fraction like that, you can focus on giving them the best quality of service you can. Better than you would if you were to serve a much larger audience.
Another benefit of niche marketing is that it does not use much resource. After you have identified and study your audience, you will direct you resources only at marketing to your specific market rather than wasting your resources as if you were targeting a broader audience. Niche marketing requires that you focus your resources and energy only on your targeted segment of the population. You will also have less competition and more visibility with niche marketing resulting in your business making more money.
